3 Tips to Enlist the Help of Others
All too often, people get stuck because they feel they do not know how to ask for help. Fortunately, it’s easy to ask for help. Read on for 3 easy tips that you can use to enlist the help of others.
- To enlist the help of others, the first thing you need to do is ASK for help. Most people are more than willing to help you, but you MUST ASK for help. You can’t get started if you’re not willing to ask. Swallow your pride, and just ASK!
- The next thing is, you must be willing to ACCEPT others help. After you accept help, you can not worry about paying the helpful gesture back. Again, helpful people love to help. Allow them the opportunity to dig deep and genuinely help you. Believe me, it feels GREAT to help others, so allow others to help you.
- The last thing to remember is to always say THANK YOU after you get help, so people will want to help you the next time you need help.
In fact if you want to provide a really great thank you, send a personal note of thanks, and follow that up if you can with a personal phone call at an unexpected time, or if you can not get a phone number to call, a nice personal e-mail thank you is certainly an acceptable alternative.
Remember: If you don’t swallow your pride and you try to “gut it out” in an area where you lack the necessary skills, knowledge or experiences, you increase the chances that you will fail and perhaps fail miserably. And nobody likes a failure, especially if with just a little bit of help, they could have succeed. Ask, and you shall receive, the help you need to make it great!
